I can easy select multiple tracks, but there is no place that I can see in the playlist view to add multiple selections at once to the library (3 dots at top do not have this option). I am left with one operational challenge - I’d like to add multiple songs to my library from long playlists that I already created. just added to a “playlist” (a really unhelpful distinction - this means every single song I have added in the past, and that I will be adding moving forward, I have to manually add twice - once to my library, and then to my playlist (why would I ever want a song to be in my playlist and not in my library? it would just have more limited access and info for me). When I put this CD in though, it is trying to import it as a CD by a band I've never even heard of. I plugged in a couple CDs that I'd bought besides this one and had no problem importing them. It is an artist who has music on iTunes, so it isn't just some no-name local person. The long menu appears for song that I have in my playlist via streaming only (Tidal), not a local file. iTunes recognizes the wrong artist/album when trying to import a CD. Then the metadata would be saved and the files would be grouped correctly on my phone.- you’re both right and very helpful - it does seem short menu is for songs that aren’t library (even if they are in my playlist a very confusing and unhelpful distinction imho), and the long menu is for songs that are in my library, in which case the heart symbol is operational. I'm beginning to think that I'd rather have another program besides iTunes convert my files from WMA to MP3 instead of M4A. When I click the Get Info button for a file in iTunes, all I get is a blank summary tab with a Previous and a Next button regardless of file type, or at least that's what JAWS 14 is telling me. Either iTunes or JAWS won't let me rename artists, albums, or songs in iTunes. All MP3 files have the Album Artist tag, and they are grouped the way they should be. This problem is only happening on the files I converted in iTunes from WMA to M4A. I have Group By Album Artist turned on on my phone under Settings\Music, but it's still not grouping the files by album artist. Because of this, no matter what view I'm in, whether it's on my phone or in iTunes, I'm seeing multiple copies of the same album, each one under a different artist name. That tag is what's not being saved when converting from WMA to M4A in iTunes. There is a metadata tag called Album Artist. I gave up on worrying about it, and bought a bigger hard drive. Now, they tend to be tucked inside the MP3. The album was Rockys second consecutive album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 and received mostly positive reviews from music critics. Back when I used Windows Media Player, the art wasn't in the file, so I could go search for those files and make them go away. To me, it seems a colossal waste of space. I wish there was a way to delete all album art. But once I figured out how it does work, it's not so bad. Sure it would be nice if everything worked the way it used to or the way I think it should. This led me to seeing how files were organized both in iTunes, and in my music player. I do all of that in the iTunes interface, and let it worry about the file system on disk. By that I mean I had to stop worrying about the folder structure in the library, and the idea of manually editing tags or moving files, outside of iTunes. Sometimes radio stations send the wrong information about the currently playing artist or title. One thing I did that made my life with iTunes much less frazzled was to give up on manual file management. Are yu using your iPhone's Album tab? Generally, while the listing in iTunes will show by artist, and as you say, show multiple copies of the album, in the phone's player, you see all the tracks of the album together in the Album tab.
